The trees are tapped in Oman. The tears are graded there. The weighing and the packing happen in Hong Kong.

Boswellia sacra grows on the monsoon slopes of Dhofar. A cut in the bark, and the tree weeps resin. Those drops harden into the tears we sell — raw, not powdered, not perfumed.

When the monsoon cloud lifts, the trees are still on the cliff. They grow out of Dhofar stone, not out of a field.

In the dry season the bark is scored, lightly. The tree answers with a milky sap. Nothing is added to it.

The sap hardens on the bark into tears. Pale ones and darker ones can come from the same hillside. Colour is how they are told apart.

A hard tear is lifted off the bark into a bowl. The tree is left to rest before anyone cuts it again.

The tears lie in the shade until they are dry to the touch. Only then are they cleaned and divided by colour.

Before the resin leaves Dhofar it is cleaned and divided. Royal Green is the pale, clear grade. Luban Khususi is the darker grade. What you receive is already that sort.
Two grades, sorted in Oman
Dhofar has more names than these. MIYAXLAB keeps to the two grades we can stand behind.

Pale, clear tears with citrus and pine. Burn them to soften a room, or steep a small pinch. This is the only grade we drink.
Read this resinNotes on this page describe traditional preparation. They are not a clinical recommendation.

A few tears on a grey coal scent the air after cooking, or when you want the room to feel cleared. Open a window when you are done.

Only Royal Green. Rinse, steep in warm water, strain. A traditional preparation — not a clinical recommendation.

We do not powder it or perfume it. You can see the colour and the size, which is how the grade was chosen.

Hong Kong is where the house packs. Resin is weighed from 100 grams to one kilogram. The ritual set is composed here: burner, charcoal, and a 100 gram start of whichever resin you choose.
